Two Seasons Shape Where Edmonton Plays
Anyone asking where to play pickleball in Edmonton gets two different answers depending on the month. For part of the year the city plays outside on park courts and painted tennis conversions. For the rest of it, play moves into gyms, field houses and dedicated clubs, and the indoor schedule becomes the backbone of the local scene.
That split matters more here than it does in milder Canadian cities. Climate normals published by Environment and Climate Change Canada put Edmonton's daily average temperature above 10 degrees Celsius only from May through September, which leaves the city with a real outdoor window of about five months and a long indoor one.
The upside is that Edmonton's indoor culture is unusually well developed.
